Her Morning Programs

on Tuesday, 17 February 2009. Posted in Rants

After three almost four years on this planet, my youngest has started forming a routine and routines are good.  She doesn't require her morning programs, but she definitely doesn't mind lazy days where we can just relax and enjoy a show or movie.  She has always been very attentive when it comes to watching shows and at an early age she knew how to identify the funny moments in a program--which for some reason just seemed advanced to me.  Anyways, here is a picture of "Baby Girl" watching one of her morning programs one lazy morning a few days ago.  In this picture she kinda looks half like an old woman and half like a toddler.  She is just so dang gone cute, right?

Kids Can Sleep Anywhere

on Thursday, 05 February 2009. Posted in Rants

I have three daughters and when they fall asleep they are all very heavy sleepers.  Our youngest moves around a lot in her sleep and we will find her in peculiar positions that seem unnatural and difficult to sleep in many a night.  We rearrange her only to find she keeps moving throughout the night. Anyways, she not only does this at night, but also during the day.  Here is a picture of her after she rolled off the couch and landed right between the couch and ottoman and somehow remained asleep.

Dad Blogs is Giving Away $100

on Monday, 12 January 2009. Posted in Rants

Dad BlogsSo, if you wondering where I have been for the last few weeks and why I have been on intermittently over the course of the last few months--I can finally unveil the answer--Dad Blogs.  With many hours of design, planning and hacking away at code Dad Blogs is finally open to the public.  Side by side with Pete Janelle of MyGPSCameraPhone, we have been toiling away to bring something to the internet community that there has never been--a directory, networking resource for Dad Bloggers.  Dad Blogs is a great haven for dads as you can read about in this press release:  Dad Blogs press release.  What is also great about Dad Blogs is that it does not discriminate.  Dad Blogs is open to both moms and dads and even has a group dedicated to moms (really just so the moms can keep track of what we are up to).

$100 Give Away

As part of our grand opening festivities, Pete and I have decided to give away our money to the public--because nothing says loving like empty pockets.  The contest is fun, and open to anyone who registers at Dad Blogs.  The rules of the contest can be found here: contest rules.  It should be a ton of fun as it rewards the best/most active Dad Blogs member with cash.  The fun part will be networking at Dad Blogs which has been designed to be both fun and welcoming to all who  use the site.

So, if you have a chance stop by Dad Blogs and let me know what you think of the place--tell me how we did.  Now, I may resume my life in earnest as blogger at Joeprah.

Why Do I Feel the Need to Explain?

on Monday, 22 December 2008. Posted in Rants

Pajama GirlHere's a recent conversation I had:

“She is wearing pajamas because she is going to a Hanukah party later today.”  I said to the nurse.

“Why do you think you need to explain why she is pajamas to me?”  The nurse replied.

“Because I am a dad out with his daughter and I just thought you may be wondering why she is still in PJs.”  I explained.

“Nope, I wasn’t even thinking about it.  Some kids really don't like getting changed, so I don't even think about that.” The nurse answered.
