| Boost Your Blog Traffic via Wordless Wednesday | | Print | |

Guest post by Pete of mygpscameraphone.com I've seen many bloggers enter into a schedule of topics in order to produce more predictable posting patterns for their readers. Some people can hang with it, while others (me) have a major issue with being oppressed by a schedule. What I've done with some success is committed to one day where I almost always post the same topic. This topic is called Wordless Wednesday. For the uninitiated, Wordless Wednesday is a big link list of blogs that have posted a photo with no words. You post your entry and then add your blog to the link list. Other participants do the same and everyone visits each other. It's a great way to find new blogs and an easy way to knock out a post. Wordless Wednesday became so popular that they are now wordless every day, but the most participation comes from the Wednesday edition. I've met many people through this and seen many great photos. If you want some of the action, here are a few "secrets" to becoming a blogging supernova (or at least a dwarf planet).

Everyone should check out http://detentionslip.org. It's the leading source for crazy news in public schools and education.

Thanks for the tip. I should probably ought to join in something like that too. I have a few photos I could toss up there. And I can definitely use traffic. Sometimes it gets to seem like I'm living in Radiator Springs.

People will try to add their link multiple times, which ends up giving them an unfair advantage. Also, it's incredibly annoying to be going down the link list, only to find the same website posted under a different name.

Every point on point! Also, throwing in a Mr. Linky at the end of each of your WWs lets others share their WWs with you and your readers. It's a great way for you and your readers to discover other interesting WWs.

This is how clueless I am...I have posted wordless wednesday's a few times, but got no extra readers because I just did it on my own. I didn't realize there was a network. LOL! Thank's for enlightening me.

I'm not convinced. "I did it for quite a while about 9 months ago and I don't think I picked up any regular readers from it. sure I got more hits on a wednesday, but it's relationships I want to build, not page view counts.
Of course it is possible that I just didn't fit into that crowd. 9

That's a great suggestion...I haven't done that yet. Although, words are my favorite, so it might be kinda tough for me not to use them (just ask my husband.) :p

I totally agree with you that this is a way to build readership. I have not done a lot of MEME's but this has been one that I have been doing for about 7 or 8 weeks now and as long as you post it and comment the people tend to come back for other posts as well!
Come and check out the Divadome! http://dadofdivas.blogspot.com 14
