So, my 4 day saunter to Las Vegas is over.  We played roulette, poker, and slots mostly.  We started out up...but we wound up down a couple hundred which isn't too bad considering the amount of gambling we did.  We had a great time and really enjoyed our time together.  It has been a long time since we had a trip alone away from our kids and although we love them as much as possible, I think every couple needs some "alone time" to recharge their respective batteries, reset goals and simply just enjoy each other.  We never ran out of things to talk about the entire trip and had a wonderful time reconnecting.  My wife and I are best friends, but it is easy to miss each other through all the activities and weekly hustle and bustle.  Through all the room service, walks on the "Strip", and time together at restaurants and cafes it really was a romantic getaway.  The climate was great.  Seventy degrees and no humidity.  From the man-made casinos and desert mountains there was no shortage of breath taking vistas and "eye candy."  As first-timers in Las Vegas I think we learned alot about what we would do differently the next time and how to pack.  I am excited to get home and see the kid-lings but I will look back on this trip as a great one for us as parents in need of a break and as a couple spending much deserved quality time together.

A couple hundred? Not bad...not bad. Last time we were in Vegas, I watched my husband lose a couple hundred in about 10 minutes...on a NICKEL slot machine. I almost killed him dead.

Holy Moly! Yeah, I can see how stuff like that happens. We were up $500 and then we just lost the luck...next time we will approach the trip differently when it comes to gambling, more poker tournaments, less slots...things like that.

I am glad you had a great time. You are right about couples needing a break from the kids every once in a while. we take them all the time...and love every minute of them! It is great to be able to be together and talk, and not talk about the kids the whole time!! signs of a healthy marriage.

Sounds like an awesome trip! And I like what you've done with the place. Sorry, it's been a while since I visited. My last week was spent in Florida. Anyway, I was gonna ask if you did what I always do in Vegas, just because you can. Please say you walked the strip with an open container of alcohol. I don't feel Vegas until I've done that.

Hey BD,

LOL! I wish I could say I did, but I was keen on staying alert while gambling because I play a lot of Poker. I didn't really drink too much while I was there. I think if I were with a crew of folks it would have been different.
